More washi fun - Wedding cards

Keeping up with my latest card I made a few more cards with washi tape, this time I made 3 wedding cards.

For the first one I used an embossing folder and the partial embossing technique, I only embossed the card half card, and then I used the washi tape to cover the end line.

The first card will go to the Young crafters unite - Challenge #14 - Learning is fun (partial embossing technique).

The second card will go to the Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes challenge.

Washi tape baby girl card

This card layout was copied from the clean & simple blog. I think this is such a great idea of how you can use washi tape.

The sentiment and stamp are from the plus one stamp set from Lawn fawn.

Since it's a one layer card, the copics were showing a little bit on the other side of the card, so I covered it with some more washi tape, so the inside is decorated as well.

Happy Birthday

Today's cards were created directly after I watched the beautiful card and video from DarleneDesign - Three color Butterflies.

The technique she is sharing on her blog (first emboss with Clear embossing powder, then stamp the images and finally color the background with distress ink) I so simple and beautiful. I immediately wanted to try it for myself.

I think the result is beautiful and I love the cards. I think I'll make a few more cards like this with different ink colors and make a set out of it.

I am using the cards with the latest challenge on the Simon says stamp blog -Simon says stamp - Emboss It!

Random Rant

Nothing to show you today, just a random rant.

It is getting so hard to leave comments on blogger blogs that use Captcha.

What were they thinking changing the fonts recently?? - I am finding myself not leaving a comment half the times I want to write something nice to someone because it's just too hard to figure out what the words are.

Can someone please tell me what the letters are in the below pictures?

Someone has got to come up with a better system to prevent spam.

And just a final note to finish they rant post - the automatic spam prevention in blogger is really good, I had not had one spam posted on my blog and I don't use captcha on my blog comments.

Ok - enough for today. See you when I have time to create... (when  my kids are 18 maybe...). Maybe I should start posting the list of things I want to create. This is as close as I get this days to actually creating..

Warm Thoughts

Another sympathy card. I created it with the Mehndi Medallion stamp set from Papertrey ink and memento ink.

The sentiment is from the Sentiment Sampler from Paper Smooches. Love this stamp set, it has a sentiment for every need you might have.

Get Well

Today's card is a get well card. I wanted to pick some happy, bright colors.

I white embossed the cover-a-card Daisies stamp and colored it with Distress inks. I then added some gems. The sentiment is from the Paper Smooches, Sentiment Sampler stamp set.

Card set

Today's card are a set I've been wanting to do for so long, but never got around to doing it.

It is a simple card inside a pocket I made with patterned paper and card stock. It is nice, but kind of a lot of work, so I'm not sure I will be doing this again vs. just making a normal set of cards.

I also decorated the envelope to match so it will be a complete set. Two (one of each color) went to my mother and two to my mother in law. I really like it that they like and use my cards.

Birthday Wishes

The card today was done by the layout that the a blog named hero posted a few weeks ago, I liked it and saved it to be used when I have the time.

It's a simple card that uses lots of embossing.

I started by masking the sides of main panel. I then stamped it with versa mark and the Flower Dot stamp by Hero Arts. I then embossed it with clear embossing.

I used 3 distress inks and colored the main panel and then cleaned it with a damp cloth. The stamping moved a bit giving it a two layer look. It's not perfect but I king of like it, so I kept on going.

I then moved the eclips mask and draw the two silver lines to give some definition.

The birthday wishes was embossed with Silver and then popped on foam dots.

Supplies:
