Mika is 5

Mika is a sweet 5 years old, who I really love. And shame on me, I had only 10 minutes to prepare a card for her.

So I used some pretty patterned paper, cake embellishment and some sticker letters.

All and all, I was very happy with the way this card turned out.

Happy 40

Quick happy 40th birthday to my hubby... Made it some time ago but only now found time to post it. I love this color scheme.

This is the first time I used pins in one of my cards, I figured it's safe, since my husband is 40... but I didn't count on my 3 years old getting a hold on this card.... :-) Next time, I might put some glue at the end of the pins to make it less sharp...

Thinking of you

Hello my neglected blog readers, I think of you every day but I don't have a lot to post. It's been very busy at work and with the summer vacation I hardly find time to do any crafting at all.

But I did manage to do one quick card yesterday and here goes:

I used the medallion stamp set by PTI which I love, I white embossed it and then colored it with some beautiful new Tim Holtz distress ink I got. Love these colors.

I am really happy with the way this card turned out. The black background really makes the colored circles to pop out of the page.

The idea for this card came from the Super Duper Neon card by Julie Ebersole  - This lady is so talented, everything she does is so beautiful.

8 years old

This card was made to a very sweet girl, who I really really love, who turned 8 this week. I know it seems like a lot of work for a card for an 8 years old, but I really enjoyed making it and kind of got carried away with elements, but I like the final outcome and I think this is what counts at the end, right???

Shopping birthday

I love this card :-)

I created this for a friend of mine who LOVES to shop (but really - who doesn't??).

I also decorated the envelope to match.

Now I'm set with the card, if only buying her a gift would be that easy...

Sunshine Birthday

Today I created a happy birthday card with the inspiration from the Simon Says Stamp Joy's Summer Inspiration photo

The big yellow sunflower immediately caught my eye and reminded me of a big yellow sun. I don't have a sun stamp, or any paper with sun, so I decided to create a sun with the triangle from the HeroArts/Studio Calico stamp set. I then masked the rays to stamp the clouds.

The happy b-day is created with a technique I saw on Jennifer Mcguirk blog - Thin Glitter Die Cuts.
It looks like so much fun. I didn't have wide scor tape, so I actually had to do some extra work for this. First I lined a piece of white paper with thin scor tape. Then I cut the text in my silhouette machine and when that was done, I run it through the xyron sticker maker. That gave me the text with glue on both side. I then added glitter and colored it with copics - fun!
