I am in love with a new technique I saw on the "You and Your Big Dreams" blog.
Pear it with the Papertrey Ink May Blog Hop beautiful colors from the inspiration photo and I knew which card I want to make.
So here is my card:
I started with a white cardstock. I white embossed the sentiment and then I colored the page with the pear tart ink (in retrospect, I could start with a green card stock...). Then I stamped the beautiful Mehndi Medallion stamp from PTI and clear embossed it.
Then I covered the card with black ink and cleaned it with a baby wipe.
The ribbon and pearls were white, and I colored them with a copic marker to match the card colors.
I really love the way this card turned out. I am just not sure black and love goes together. If you get a card as black as this to a wedding - would that make you feel bad? I wonder... Maybe I need to make another card with a more romantic background.
Some stamping on the envelope to match.
Here is a close up to the details of this embossing card.
One word of advise, the original post suggested to make sure the ink is completely dry before embossing - they were not kidding!! Look what happened on my first try - Embossing disaster, I also used another ink which didn't turn out quite as good as the pear tart memento ink.
I am adding this card to the following challenges:
